Dolphin’s Safety Philosophy

“Everybody is responsible for safety”

Dolphin attaches special importance to the obligation it has for health and safety of its employees and visitors at all Dolphin Drilling locations.

Dolphin will take all reasonable measures to carry out its obligations to promote safe working practices and ensure that employees and visitors are not unnecessarily exposed to health or safety hazards.

All members of management are responsible, both individually and collectively, for complying with, and ensuring that, the company’s procedures are carried out in their respective areas of responsibility.

Dolphin also expects all personnel to familiarise themselves with our policies and procedures, which are available onboard. At the same time, each individual has a personal duty to ensure that they do not endanger themselves or others. Acceptance of this responsibility, combined with a personal commitment towards health and safety, helps make our work safe.

Sub contractors/clients

All Dolphin sub contractors and clients are responsible for ensuring that they comply with the responsibilities they are given. They are responsible for working to the safe systems of work that are provided by Dolphin as well as those supplied by their individual companies.

Safety Management System (SMS)

Dolphin has in place a Safety Management System (SMS) which describes who is responsible for doing what, where and when, and to what effect. As improvements are made to systems and procedures then the management system becomes a place to store learning and best practise; this prevents having to re-invent the wheel each time an activity is undertaken.

Each unit has onboard a complete and up-to-date, controlled copy of Dolphin’s SMS. All supervisory personnel are required to have knowledge of its location and to their individual responsibilities within the system. In addition, Dolphin encourages all other personnel to gain insight into the SMS.
